I don't understand the hate. I know a lot of bits were left out - that is part of being a movie, but overall I thought is was awesome. Would have been better as an R Rated miniseries.

Yeah, even by today;s standards the XXXXweasels are a major gross out. They are every bit as gross in the movie too.

I love the book and the movie. I'm going to read the book again shortly.

And...

I watched the Blu Ray last night. Good film. The picture quality was very nice. The Aussie version is region B locked.

Yeah, I didn't know there was a version that had a commentary. I have to get it now. I have the older version with no commentary.

I'll be rebuying it I think :)

My Blu Ray of it turned up yesterday. I haven't watched it yet. Looking forward to it so would rather do it on a Fri or Sat night with a couple of drinks :)

I liked it a lot. To be honest I preferred it significantly over the original. I had the original on DVD but had sold it. I've watched the remake a couple of times.
