Re: Message Board Problem Resolution
jordan the character limit to 1000 got changed in the social groups posting area--previous it was a much larger limit. when i went to repost a review on metallica in the great music group(copying from an old post)..i had to break it up to 3 posts and delete white space etc...--previous it was one post
so that would severely effect the halloween story group... mayhaps it can be reverted to old allowed characters? 1000 is not a lot for some things
as alwaya thankee for listening and making this board so much better !!!
PS- i got the threading ability in the social groups i had asked about long time ago! i likey big big!

To the 1000-character limit, there's not much you can do with a thousand characters. For instance, will we still be able to write a Halloween story this year?

The limit only applies to the description of the group. The limit set on posts should be the same across the board. |

Hi Jordan,
I tried to edit Long Road Home tonight and it still told me it was too long, and said it had to be 1 (one) character long.

Apaarently there's a bug in the software that sets the description to 1 character when you try to make it unlimited. I've set a limit of 10k. That should be adequate.

Re: Message Board Problem Resolution
When I used to search for all my posts, there used to be an option 'search for all of the threads started by you' and 'search for all of the posts by you'. Did that option move somewhere? I loved that feature.

You can still do that by going to your Profile page and clicking on the Statistics tab. The links to find your posts are in there. |
Message board posting problems
Every time I'm trying to post a message, when I hit the RETURN key to go to new line, it always posts the message instead (because the SUBMIT POST button is pre-selected), and the message is incomplete and not entirely what I wanted to say. So I have to appeal to the mods to allow me to correct it. It's a very difficult system. Is there a better way to avoid this, so my posts remain intact and I don't look so stupid next time?
Re: Message Board Problem Resolution
I get a new line when I fit hit return in Firefox 3. What browser and OS are you using?

Re: Message Board Problem Resolution
When I try to check the Ka-Tet Catina thread, I usually get this message:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 17160 bytes) in /var/www/html/forums/showthread.php on line 1272
This happens at home and at work.

I'm probably going to have to close that thread... it is getting a little too large. The next time you receive the error, please let me know what time it occured. Thanks!

Re: Website Problem Resolution
Ever since "living avatars" were introduced, the web page never completes loading. Or maybe it does, but it takes about five to ten minutes every time.
Right now I have three tabs open, and they're all spinning around saying they're loading, and the little green vista page progress bars in the bottom right, are loaded up to what looks like 97%... but they're still loading, and if I place my cursor on the web page anywhere but somewhere I can type, it shows the little 'vista busy' cursor. What used to be the little 'please wait hourglass'.
It says "connecting to pixel.quantserve.com in the bottom left, directly across from the progress bar now. And the page seems to be completely loaded...
Anybody noticed this? Is this an open issue?
