As for sk's humor I always think of the chapter in UTD about the Corgi, and his "hoovering" the spilled popcorn from behind the couch. (That chapter, which I think is chapter 12, is written to perfection, imho.) I also think about the typewriter which gradually loses letters Paul Sheldon has to use in Misery.
