real merchandising for S.K.
It seems to me someone must have approach Mr. King about
a real merchandise line. Like "Blaine the Mono train sets" and
"the thirteen wizard balls"
complete with velvet draw string bags.
Toy guns..the big ones with the sandal wood grips/
(these guns would be set inside a box, so they could be
taken out and played with like real guns)
" dark tower__Action figures" of all four gunslingers and
Oy and Elder Jonas,Susan Delgado etc
Also the book, "Tales of Eld" that Father Callahan had in his
possession...that could be created, with illustrations...and
sold in our where and when . There is also T-shirts ,
There is about 4000 ideas for T-shirts with in the Dark Tower
books alone. No to mention all his works, going back to Carrie.
some of these things must exist all ready, but I am not
aware of many. What Im talking about here is a 'full scale
Nation wide merchandise BLITZ.
Sai King, if he were so inclined ,could make a dump-truck
full of money...it seems to me.
Im thinking he must have said 'No' to some offers like this
, perhaps many offers...good for him, if he did say no.
Re: real merchandising for S.K.
McFarlane Toys had approached him years before Imagine Entertainment came on the scene to do Dark Tower figures. Steve had given his approval and the project seemed to be moving forward but they decided not to put them into production. I do not know why. I don't have any inside information about Imagine's plans to market anything other than a video game but that doesn't mean they might not have been thinking about it. Time will tell.

Except for Black 13. That one should come in a bowling ball bag. :)

As much as I like the idea (I've never been one to be politically correct), I suspect realistic toy guns are just dangerous in this day and age. The last thing I'd like to hear about is some police officer or civilian mistaking the sandalwood grips for a threat... and well... it has happened before and all too often.

Action figures suffer the same problem as actors. Matching up to the text as projected in the countless minds is impossible. :)

All of these sound quite good. My own bit of memorabilia is a jacket I had made. It is a standard High School jacket made to look exactly as described in It, i.e. when Bill and Richie meet the werewolf.
