Best choices for new cast
So if this movie comes to fruition, (as a remake), it'll be cool to see who is cast this time around. I doubt you will get better than Gary Sinense as Stu, but let's see what you all think. Even if it doesnt get re-made, Id still be interested what you all thought. Who do you pick?
My cast-
Stu- Andrew Lincoln (Walking Dead)
You can't beat Gary Sinese, but IMO, Lincoln fits the character of Stu Redman, and would not be a let down. We know he can handle himself in a zombie apocalypse, so the super flu may be a breeze for him in terms of acting shops.
Harold- Jonah Hill (Superbad)
IMO, Harold was badly casted in the mini series, with Coren Nemic. Harold was supposed to be that fat, nasty kid that everyone hated in high school (we all had a Harold at our high school.. his name was Chuck at my high school). I think that Hill could pull that off way better than Nemic. Hill, in my mind, actually *looks* like the Harold Lauder character from the book. Nemic, not so much. Can you not see Jonah Hill in boots, glasses, flowered shirt!
Fran- Lindsay Lohan (TMZ and other tabloids)
Hear me out... (I Know Im gonna get hammered for this). But if Lohan could stay sober, out of jail, and go back to her natural red hair, she'd be Fran. I think she could do it. I think Lohan could play that sassy, sm,art (she's just acting, remember), pretty (sometimes annoying and naive) character that Frannie is. Cmon.. she's better than Molly!
Larry- Adam Levine
I tried to think of newer pop/rock singers that I like, but I couldn't. I suppose Im more of a Rolling Stones and classic rockers fan. But he was pretty good on American Horror Story, and I know he's a singer. And his songs probably arent as bad as the "Baby Can You Dig Your Man" from the mini series (that song always made me think of Larry Underwood as being a contemporary of Rick Astley).
Randall Flagg-
Christian Bale or Christopher Walken.
Mother Abigail-
Ummm... drawing a blank here
Lloyd-Collin Farrell
That's sorta who I picture.
Trashcan Man- Gary Busey
Before you slam this choice... just imagine a nuttier actor playing this role.

Oh pleeeeeeeease...not Lindsay Lohan. The woman CANNOT act. We already had a borderline actress play the role of Frannie, Molly Ringwald, and it has soured me on the character of Frannie until this day. How about an unknown who can bring a realness to Frannie? That would be my choice.

My vote for Mother Abigail is Cicely Tyson. She is a great actress who has earned the privilege to play one of SK's best characters.
