look, throughout the history of movie making, it's been almost as easy to find someone new as to hire on a top gun...point is, top guns might not stick around

i say, given the time off (while looking for $$), they should seriously use this as a period to rethink and look for some great, undiscovered or unthought of actor

remember, please, even clint eastwood was a two-bit tv actor when the italians remade him into the new uberhero/icon

I think Hugh Jackman would be perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come to think of it, while reading, the picture I had of Roland was not of a human, I reckon, since I can't really picture him now, not his face anyway. While I read, Roland was not like that to me. I pictured Eddie and Jake and Susannah, even Oy, but never Roland. I guess the closest I ever had was one sK provided: Eastwood; but then again, which Eastwood? Which when?

For me that's what, if ever, problem arises in terms of casting, and why I still really like Bardem as Roland. He could capture the mystery, intensity, and believability for me.

Just my perfect cast, here goes. I would like Josh Brolin as Roland. Ed Norton and Ryan Gosling could be someone. Maybe John Turturro and Steve Buscemmi as Walter and Jonas. Daniel Day Lewis as Marten. Maybe one of the Always Sunny cast members could be Eddie. The Columbiana girl could be Susannah and no clue who would play Jake.

I believe that Bardem's eyes are brown. I also heard rumor that Hugh Jackman might be asked?

First, to clear this up, I LOVE Javier Bardem. But, as mentioned quite a few times previously, I just cannot picture him as Roland. I mean, he needs to lose a LOT of weight, and the Bombardier eyes are absolutely necessary, as brown eyes seem to be warmer, for the most part. I think he could DO it, but I'm just not buying it (but as previously mentioned, whatever Sai King would like, eh?).

I am into Viggo as Roland, but the LoTR thing is a great point; he has a better look for it, in my opinion. Daniel Day-Lewis or Josh Brolin (as DATRUE mentioned) I realllly like as Roland. I was thinking Norman Reedus for Eddie, until I saw his role in Walking Dead, it kind of changed my opinion on that particular matter. James Ransone or Billy Crudup are my favorites for Eddie right now. I think Sanaa Lathan has the right look for Susannah, but I think that I would personally be happiest with Naomie Harris.

Jake, honestly, I'm not sure. Just not Bieber.

There's so many characters, but these are the only ones I will speculate on for the time being. Maybe once they get a for-sure on the main characters, I can talk "shop" with the more minor characters.

For the love of God...someone call Tom Selleck!!!!

Oh Lord please let it beViggo Mortensen . Javier Bardem features are too big, just sayin'. He doesn't fit the mental picture I have. I think Viggo would be perfect. I love his acting. Hello? Ever see The Road!
