Clint Eastwood y'all. He was Stephen's inspiration for Roland in the first place, when he took Stephen's breath away seeing him on the big screen. Stephen is lucky that Clint is still with us, he is getting on, but who else is rugged, weathered and a true cowboy, still kicking after John Wayne. I started a post rooting for Clint, please join me.

Seriously, Roland is a far deeper character than any (maybe the only) character Stratham has ever portrayed. The generic action movie star won't work here.
Clint Eastwood would be my first choice, since he is semi-retired on acting, or at least retired from roles such as of a gunslinger, I would pick Toby Stephens. Stephens has the right age, right looks (portrayed a younger version of Eastwood's character in Space Cowboys) and good acting skills.
Russell Crowe would be good
