Hi guys,
I was wondering if you all could help me find some early reviews of IT. It's my favorite King book and I'm aware of the legacy and reputation that it has now but I'm interested in seeing was the early consensus on its quality was. I've spent time looking but I find it infuriating to google anything about that book online!!! Maybe you've got something Miss Mod.
Thanks

We have them at the office but I'm working from home today. Will try to remember to look tomorrow. Do you want the ones from wider circulated and/or industry publications, e.g. NY Times, Publisher's Weekly, Kirkus?

Yes, that's what I'm looking for. Just trying to figure out if reviewers praised it upon publication as much as people do now that's its got its long standing reputation.

That's probably the most difficult book ever published to successfully Google.

And apparently absolutely necessary as I realized Saturday that on Friday I'd written four years until retirement thinking I was going to be 62 this year instead of 61.

Very true! I once tried to get on the Wikipedia page, the only way I could get to it was going into kings wiki page, going to bibliography then clicking the link.

Took me a little longer than I'd planned. Our file had a lot of reviews from smaller publications as well but picked 3 that I thought you might find interesting including one by Dean Koontz. The quality of the original photocopies was not that good so the scan quality reflects that as well. Am having trouble uploading the files because I keep getting an error message regarding the file size so will get in touch with Jordan to help me get them posted.

Afraid not. Just tried to upload them and still getting the same error messages. Jordan was hoping the reinstall of the vBulletin software would have corrected that but apparently not  If you're okay with my using the email you have listed for your account, I could possibly email them as attachments.

Marsha, I don't know this will help but I'm able to open and read all of those attachments.

Well, for the love of Pete, would you look at that! I got a red exclamation point when I uploaded them and had canceled out and opened a new post (or so I thought) without the attachments so thought they didn't go through. Never mind then. :smile2:

BTW I'd put in the Algis Budrys review mostly because he made a point of mentioning whether future critics would view it in the same light.

Thanks Marsha for posting those! It was interesting to read those opinions. Do they still have authors review other authors works like that?

Yes, in fact Steve has done some--a couple Harry Potter ones come to mind.
