Well, how does everyone think the game is going to turn out Sunday? On paper, the 49ers look like the better team but the game is not played on paper, it's played on monofilament polyethylene. So here is my pick:

Baltimore 31 San Fran 27

As a Patriots fan  as much as I would LOVE to see the 49ers trounce the Ravens, I don't see that being the outcome. No idea on how close it will be, though, or whether I'll even bother watching. It would just tick me off all over again to see them win. :glare:

I am a Giants fan so this Superbowl isn't close to my heart. However, I think Baltimore has a good vibe going so I'm cheering for them.

I will be cheering for the 49ers. I cannot cheer for the team that took down my Broncos.

I really don't care one way or another. Here in Kentucky basketball is the only sport that matters.

My prediction:

I will be watching the all day marathon of the show du jour -- Andy Griffith, Roseanne etc.... I will be napping before kick-off. I will have to be told who wins The Stanley America's Cup after the fact. I will go to Youtube if anything earth shattering happens so I can see it for myself.

I have reasons to not want either team to win: the Ravens are a fierce division rival for my Steelers, and if the 49ers win they will have 6 Superbowl wins just like the Steelers.

But, at the end of the day I just can't bring myself to root for the Ravens.

49ers 24, Ravens 23.

I was thinking along the same lines. I wanna see 'em get crushed.

I'm cheering for the Niners (since the stinking Ravens beat Peyton Manning ). I just don't think that Ravens defense is going to be able to take Kaepernick. I've used the simile that Kaepernick is kind of like a Ben Roethlisberger who can actually run or a Tebow who can actually throw so I don't see them being able to stop him. The Ravens will undoubtedly come out emotional and wanting to win one for Ray Lewis, but emotion can only carry a team so far.

It's going to be a close game and a low scoring game for maybe the first three quarters, but I predict Kaepernick and the Niners coming out on the winning side: 27-20.

Again, these teams aren't my ideal Super Bowl match-up and I'm kind of debating if I really care about the game enough to watch it, but it's better than seeing another re-run of the Belichick and Brady Bunch Show. :biggrin2:

I absolutely can't stand Ray Lewis. Nothing would suit me better than to see him finish his career on the short end of the stick. Seeing that how my Giants tanked and my second favorite team got beat by Lewis and crew (The Pats) nothing would suit me better to see The Niners crush The Ravens.

SF - 24
BR - 14

Ray Lewis is perhaps going to have a hard couple of weeks after the big game if this story is correct.......

Wes Welker's wife did a pretty good job of that this year after the championship game.

What did she say?

Don't remember the exact quote so paraphrasing, "Tommy can't do everything." I'm sure his teammates weren't particularly pleased and didn't make his job any easier the next time they had to be together.

Ahh, Gisele...kind of proves that ole statement about not mattering how beautiful you are on the outside, if you're ugly on the inside.

I didn't hear what Wes Welker's wife said...what did she say?

Here is the quote from Mrs.12.........

"My husband can not f---ing throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time," she said while waiting for the elevator to leave the VIP suites at Indianapolis' Lucas Oil Stadium. "I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times."

She did indeed, but I will give her a pass after finding out that she was a Hooter's girl.

"Proud of my husband and the Pats. By the way, if anyone is bored, please go to Ray Lewis' Wikipedia page. 6 kids 4 wives. Acquitted for murder. Paid a family off. Yay. What a hall of fame player! A true role model!"

She did apologize for that

Maybe the wives of the Patriot players should start trying out for the team. They've certainly mastered the art of trash talk. :biggrin2:

One last post for this thread. Here is Saturday Night Live's take on the horrendous coverage CBS had during the Super Bowl blackout.

http://deadspin.com/5983117/saturday-night-lives-cold-open-spoofed-the-super-bowl-blackout

Al Michaels and Bob Costas make the big bucks for a reason. Those guys could have handled a little blackout much better.:biggrin2:
