One of the most fascinating aspects of the DT series were the characters from other SK works who would pop up in the various DT novels. We all know that the Man in Black aka Randall Flagg aka Walter was that ol' lovable fellow from Eyes of the Dragon and The Stand. Father Callahan from Salem's Lot was in the last 3 books in the series (V, VI, and VII)..he was also in Roadwork too (Phil Drake... of course). Ted Brautigan from Hearts in Atlantis made an appearance in DT VII, as one of the Breakers, along with Dinky Earnshaw from Everything's Eventual.

But who else from other SK works would you have LIKED to have seen in the DT series in some way shape or form? Or if there is another DT novel, who would you LIKE to see in it?

I think after Harold Lauder commits suicide in The Stand, it would have been cool for him to appear in Mid World (much as Callahan and Jake did). Maybe then Harold could redeem himself fighting the Red? The guy had the skills and the prowess... and Im sure the banter between he and Roland would have been priceless.

Id also like to see Flagg again if there is another DT novel. I loved him in the DT, and also in TWTTKH as the taxman.

And you know, much like the ka-tet dropped in on The Stand world, maybe they could drop in on a "Long Walk"..... ahhh... maybe?

And as metaphysical as DT was... maybe Sai King and Paul Sheldon could have had an interesting scene together?

Ah, the possibilities!

I really wanted to see Peter and Thomas from TEOTD. Badly.

I agree with Shasta above; it was hinted they (Peter, especially Thomas) would make another appearance to battle Flagg, but we never got it. However the characters I'd of MOST liked to see in the DT were Jack and Speedy from The Talisman. It definitely seemed as if the territories were Roland's world, or at least one very close...and it was hinted that Speedy was a gunslinger of some kind. I was sad not see all four of these characters in DT---before I read the last few of the DT series, I would have been willing to bet they'd be in there!
