Despite being a writer and a Constant Reader, I'd never sat down with On Writing. So last night, I decided to start. I was still reading past midnight. I wish I'd read it years ago. At work today, I made a list of the advice that resonated most with me and called it The Alternative King's Speech. I'm at my fiancee's tonight (she's my IR) but tomorrow night I mean to pin it up next to my writing desk. Which always was in the corner. Now it feels justified.
