My boss came and asked me today if I want to do a TV interview tomorrow. :eek2: It's gonna be in
our regional news and they want to know how I got the work and how I like my
work etc etc... Just a few question. Some of my other co workers enjoy me so I am not all by
myself. But have to admit I'm little nervous already. It's the first time someone have ever
interview me and then put it in TV. Let's hope for the best. :smile2:

What helps is to forget about the camera and focus on the person who is doing the interview. Think of it just like you are talking only to that person and having a normal conversation. Good luck! :smile2:

WOW, JoJo!! As a semi-professional public speaker I know that you can feel a little jittery at first but concentrate on the person asking you the questions and carry on a conversation with him/her and you'll be a star!!

WooHoo!! Good luck! Let us all know how it went! I was on tv twice, I was driving the white Bronco! JK!! Once was a quick snippet of me in the audience for the premier of Fire Walk With Me shown on Entertainment Tonight and the other time was when I was interviewed for a local news station about work related stuff. It was VERY nerve racking!! REMEMBER TO BREATH!!!!!!!

Years ago I was in the audience of a Big Brother eviction show. I didn't even watch it but my friend was a fan, and it was an interesting experience to see how these shows are produced. Anyway, I was right at the front and talking to the host during the breaks. She had on a fabulous pair of designer shoes, we were the same size and she genuinely offered to give me them when the show ended. I foolishly said no...silly girl! :grr:

Good advice from Kingricefan...remember to breathe! It's amazing how easy it is to forget, ha.

And don't throw your hands in the air and scream 'SUPERSTAR!!' That only works for Molly Shannon from Saturday Night Live!

Good luck, you'll be fine Jojo. Maybe I'll see that interview, if it's going to be shown on YLE (Finnish national broadcasting company) regional news.

Thank you so much for all good advice, I was just look at the questions they're going to
ask tomorrow (we got them beforehand) and it's not any difficult, but a little practice would not
hurt. :biggrin2: Good point Marsha thanks, I should think that the interviewer is just a customer and
I talk with different people everyday in work, and forget the camera. Sorry Marsha and Patrick I have
to wear my working clothes in the interview, so no skirt or any other dress. I promise Kingricefan I wont throw
my hands in the air and scream SUPERSTAR. :smile2: It's to nervous for me anyway. Oh the breathing is a
good point too, would be to embarrassing if I faint front of the camera. I still consider if I gonna watch my
self in TV or not. Yes KJ Norbotten is gonna be in YLE regional news that begin 7:10pm (Finnish local time)

I promise to let you know tomorrow. :smile2: Once again thank you so much, I try to keep in mind everything you said.

Hey, congrats, Johanna! -They'll no doubt make you up before the interview - studio lights have a terrible way of making a person look washed out if they don't have more defined facial features, so there's a good chance you'll be in stage make-up. (It's like exaggerated make-up - just go with it.)

And if it's possible, can you put up a link of the interview on YouTube after it's aired? I don't care if I don't speak Finnish - I just want to see you and give you some applause from across The Pond!

...now Jo, that is the sub-zero of cool!...I've done some TV in my time, and let me suggest you DON'T practice-just be your sweet self, and as all have said-focus on the person posing the questions-you'll be amazed at how quick the rest of the "stuff" fades into the background...and at least YOUR interviewer won't have to sit on a phonebook to see you eye to eye!...:biggrin2:

Hello Friends! So the TV interview was going great. I was pretty nervous but not because of the camera but
because I've never been interviewed before. The camera wasn't a big deal for me and happy that
I survived it and after all the whole thing was a new experience for me. :smile2: They won't air it tonight
since they got some problem but tomorrow it will be on the radio and TV. They also do a internet
story about the interview. I and my boss and one of my co worker had the opportunity to
do this. Will be excited to see how it works out. I try to put up a link tomorrow if it's possible
after it's aired. A good day even if little jittery. Then afterwards I and my boss and my co worker had
a good lunchtime with those people that came and did the interview and we where able to ask question about
how they work. Fun day but don't think I ever be any movie or TV star NO NO not my thing. :biggrin2:

By the way, what was the purpose of the segment?

They wanted to do this because young people don't get job very easily here and many
young search for practical training ( I did the same thing almost three years ago) so they
perhaps can find a job in the future. So long to short a radio, TV interview about young people's unemployment.
This guy from the employment agency wanted us to do this in first place so he asked my boss if I and one
of my co worker (who happen to do this practical training now) want to take part of the interview. And we say
Yeah Okay so my boss said yes to this guy and then we got those TV people there. Very difficult to explain this
I really hope you understood what I meant Haunted.

ABSOLUTELY!! Young people in Finland are having trouble finding jobs same as the young people here in the States and that the practical training you and your co-worker received made you a desirable hire. We could use some of that kind of info disseminated here.

Gosh, I really hope you can find a way to hook us up to seeing it!!
