Do you know how I can tell? I work at a Psych Health facility and I sit out at Admitting even though I am not an admitting clerk. Judging by the amount of activity out in the hall, I think that old wives tale about the full moon affecting our emotions, etc. is probably true. We get the strangest inquiries at the counter every time there is a full moon out there! :upside:

I work with the public and I see changes in behavior at the full moon, like tomorrow, and at the new moon. I have a friend who works in mental health and she sees it too.

Mental health & emergency room workers, bartenders & cab drivers (I've done both), they know all about that full moon howlin' bein' an "old wives tale", is what I'm thinkin'.
It's like there's weird magic in the air, and not always bad juju, I mean your average everyday full moon susceptible knuckleheads, they usually just gets their numbed skulls stuck in a toilet, or maybe wake up wearing someone else's pants :oo:..hey hey heyyy hey hey, that was just that one time:rolleyes:!
But then things always seem to just turn on the thinnest of dimes when it comes societies truly special's mental high tides, F-U-L-L M-O-O-N, that sometimes spells, Flashing Lights:oh:

Can anyone see any difference when Mercury is in retrograde?

I can't, but I have a coworker who always yells "Is Mercury in retrograde??" and when I look it up, it IS. I'm always very impressed.

Absolutely--communications are always more difficult during that time.

Mercury in retrograde is definitely not Mercury's best side.

The skeptic walks in*

I think people, knowing it is a full moon, looks more closely for atypical behaviour.

Probably... I won't know until it's time to go home! Of course all I need to do is get up off my chair and go outside to find out :biggrin2:

Don't forget to brush off your cowgirl hat before coming in the house!

That's so interesting. He's always frustrated with our teams in Asia when he yells this.

I'm going to have to pay more attention......

We could always tell there was a full moon when I worked in retail - Shopper Rage all over the map. More irate customers, merchandise issues, register problems, and crazy people than any other time. The double whammy of full moon in December right before Christmas made me want to stay home with the beclothes pulled over my head. It was like people had been given day passes from Camarillo, St. Elizabeth's, and Bellevue. :eek2:

Police blotters log more activity of any kind, but specifically more crimes of passion, during a full moon than any other time of the month. And speaking of that, were you aware that there are more home pregnancy test kit ads on TV during full moons than any other time of the month? Yep.

I loved the West Edmonton Mall when we lived in Edmonton. We would go to the World Waterpark for the whole day in February. Those slides were great!

Back when I worked in retail, there was one customer who ONLY came in when it was a full moon. She wasn't grumpy or rude, just very demanding, and was one who wanted you to basically hold her hand while she browsed.

My kids have been letting me know about the full moon, too. They have been especially hard to please.

...I saw behavioral changes at the hospital where I worked during times of a full moon or dramatic atmospheric changes, and I see it at the prison as well...luna-cy is well named...A facility I worked at had two Alzheimer's units. The staff who worked those units said the patients' seemed to become more agitated when there was a full moon. I guess it could be argued that since a full moon is more noticeable than when it isn't full, and so it's appearance is relatively unusual, it might create anxiety (fear) in those subject to anxiety.

Are you a guard? (If you don't mind me asking) or are you a practical nurse who provides health care to the inmates? Sorry for being so nosy. I figure either role would work for you since you stand about 6 foot 12 inches or somethin' like that

I used to work in communications and when full moon occurred, people behaved like they were all screwed up, saying bad things and even yelling at me or my co-workers. It's funny how some folks are getting influenced by lady moon. It never bothered me though...or maybe it did, and I was not aware of it.:umm:

I got a chance to see the full moon at around 5:00 am. The sky had cleared up, but by mid-morning, the clouds came back.

We have a facility here called Stony Mountain that is in the town of Stony Mountain. It's a medium security facility. I heard a couple of stories from a friend who was a former guard. I think he is glad to be retired now. You must see a different side of people but it's good you're in health care. It sounds much more pleasant than being a guard
