What's with all the grilled cheese? Yum!

I had a salad because I'm on a diet. I have to say, though, that my salad diet is working because I've lost 7 pounds!

....lessee, since I work Third Shift-lunch is usually a bit ummmm, unusual, coz I always forget to pack somethin' and have to resort to the "Wheel of Death" vending machine...so last night it was honey mustard/onion pretzel bits, a bear claw, scooby snacks and a healthy glass of water...

Not sure what we're having, the menu says chicken nuggets, but Ali informed me they had chicken nuggets on Monday, so who knows? But, they usually have a pretty good salad bar, if all else fails.

It's a bit late now (you posted 1 week ago) but I am having roasted potatoes with herbs, garlic and red onion. Just made that this a.m. and bringing it to work for lunch. Might heat up a Lean Cuisine on the side for some protein.

Your tomato soup with grilled cheese is one of my favourites! (Salivating)

We eat bad when we are in a hurry (like grabbing fast food). So here is my "in a hurry lunch" that is reasonably healthy for you, (and cheap too). I make this when I run home for lunch from work and don't have much time.

1 bag of mixed frozen vegetables (broccoli and cauliflower mix is a favorite)
some left over chicken (or whatever is in the fridge from the night before) or a can of tuna
creamy ceasar salad dressing (or ranch)

Heat the vegetables in the microwave and add the meat in the last couple of minutes - stir in the salad dressing and you have lunch in 10 minutes that's not too bad and it's much better for you than a hot dog.

One things, for sure, I won't be picking up lunch when I go out to shop. Going to the pet food place today.

Most likely, I'll defrost some homemade soup. It's really tasty and easy.

Alas, here, after the dinner, then regular leftovers, then open-faced sandwiches (bread, turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy), then turkey carcass soup, there is nothing. No turkey. No potatoes (even though I made 13 pounds of mashed). No stuffing. No green bean casserole. No sweet potato crisp. No rolls. No ... no pie.

I had cold cereal for lunch.

Right fljoe0 - it sounds like a homemade version of some of those frozen things they have out there. Yours is more economical and there aren't any preservatives or other unpronouncable items in it! Probably less sodium too. Thanks - I think I'll try your recipe!:grinning:

Okay - maybe this is getting old already but I always like talkin' about food... today I am eating a Granny Smith apple at my desk while typing. These doctors are starting to get to me! They ramble on and on and sometimes I get a bit frustrated. It seems like the Ear, Nose, Throat guys are the worst which is kind of ironic, considering they are dealing with hearing impaired at times. I wish they would speak more clearly! I think some of them took a speed talking course Arrgh! :grr: Sorry for the rant - there, I am done now...

Whole wheat linguine with home made spaghetti sauce (meat, onions, spices, canned tomatoes etc.) topped with grated Romano and Asiago cheese. MMMMM - stinky cheese but it tastes good!

By the way, I left a ham and cheese sandwich in the lunch room over the weekend and it survived intact! That is a first - usually someone fiddles with anything left overnight.

Further to the leftover sandwich in the fridge that I posted about on Monday, I was dumb enough to actually eat it! Hey - it smelled okay. I don't know if that is why I felt sick yesterday. It was just overall lethargy with a bit of a temperature and once my body eliminated stuff (is that too graphic?) I definitely felt better. My glands in my throat were swollen so maybe it wasn't the sandwich. Anyway, next time I toss out the old "sangwidge" as they call them in Glasgow rather than eating it. Who knows if someone touched it on the weekend. Yuk!
