Hi Everyone-
I am new here, and I look forward to getting to know people a little better.
I am a very big fan of The Dark Tower Series, and Stephen. I try to follow his projects closely.
I have read through all of the books, except the newest addition The Wind Through the Keyhole.
I do own it, but I haven't had a chance to get to it yet. I am re-reading the series, as I am sure many
fans are doing/ have done in preparation for the book... and... just in general, as the series is never ending
quest we can all get lost in each time! And anyhow to make an almost long post short, when I got on here tonight and was
just reading through some minor posts, like casting and such I saw people posting things absolutely insensitive to others
and posts containing outright SPOILERS guys! I read things I cannot unread that were casually strewn into these posts!
Come on! Can't we all do better than this? I am not asking anything unreasonable and I am not throwing
my elbows around, I am just asking reasonably, please if you are going to speak of new content PLEASE MAKE OTHERS AWARE
THAT SPOILERS ARE CONTAINED INSIDE! :) Thanks everyone and anyone who took the time to read.
(tl;dr : Please don't post spoilers without labeling the content as containing such! Thanks!)

I am on my first journey thru the DT series. The very first thing I do is check the Title of the thread. If it has anything at all to do with a book I have not read - I steer way clear of it.
Sometimes it can not be helped, as Mr. King has been writing our books for decades.

...rule of thumb...if there's any doubt-steer clear...common sense should be your compass...and most all of us ARE careful with our spoiler alerts....

Where did you see these spoilers, Douglas? If it was in a thread devoted to The Dark Tower, then that's your fault; you can hardly expect people to not discuss a decade-old book in detail just for your benefit.

When asked what "Mama Pajama" saw that made her so distraught in this song, Paul Simon has said that he's not exactly sure, but he assumed it was something sexual. Simon made up a crazy little story for the song, and named the main character Julio because it sounded like a typical New York neighborhood kid (Simon grew up in Queens). What Paul didn't realize until years later was the impact the song had on Spanish-speaking listeners who were thrilled to hear a song coming out of America with a Latin name in the title.
The title is not proper grammar. "Julio and I down by the schoolyard" would be correct, but wouldn't capture the youthful innocence that made the song so popular.
Paul Simon was Simon's first solo album after he broke up with Art Garfunkel.
Simon made a video for this in 1988. It showed Paul playing basketball with some school kids on a playground. The video had a rap intro by Biz Markie and Big Daddy Kane, and a cameo by baseball legend Mickey Mantle, who lip-synchs the chorus. At the end of the video, NFL Hall of Famer John Madden is shown giving tips to the young players. (thanks, Alex - small town, IL)
The BBC refused to play this song because of the reference to "Newsweek," which is an American magazine. The BBC had a strict policy against product mentions in the songs they played.
