Is there relationship between Robert Fripp, frontman of the famous "King Crimson" music band, with Randall Flagg, the prime minister of Crimson King?

I've read somewhere, that Stephen King got the inspiration out of nowhere while in college. Master King was in college in late 60', I believe, and this is a time, when "King Crimson" was the most popular. What do You think about?

No intentional connection is what Steve told me when I'd asked him about King Crimson being an influence just a couple weeks ago.

In the Court of the Crimson King is a terrific album, and in my opinion should be in every DT fans music collection.

King Crimson is great band for sure for the DT fans. Music of Enrico Morricone from Siergo Leone's spaghetti westerns is perfect for gunslingers, too. If You remember music from famous Fallout I and Fallout II computer games - postapoclyptyc and mysterious - I think it suits the best.

I used to listen to King Crimson in college (in the 90s...), when I was on my "prog rock kick". When I first read that there was a character in Dark Tower called Crimson King, I immediately thought of the album/song by King Crimson, In the Court of the Crimson King.

I never thought about the Fripp/Flagg connection, but that's a pretty keen observation.

Once I was trying to think of people in real life whose initials were 'RF'....and it hit me... Richard Feynman! HE HELPED MAKE THE ATOMIC BOMB!!! Seems like the man in black gave us this bit of firepower to amuse himself as we destroy each other with it...16450

This in no way pertains to the OP's question. I am merely curious if Ms. Mod really does read them all. Or if she perhaps put it on auto-pilot and took off after lunch. If you are still there Ms. Mod I hope you have a fantastic Thanksgiving :grinning:

The posts stay in the queue until I read/approve them. It doesn't go on auto-pilot but I did take a lunch break today to get a few things I'd forgotten at the grocery store. :smile2:
Thanks--hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, too!
