I don't have a page count yet as it's only in first draft phase and will need to be edited. Keep in mind that this is in the crime novel genre which typically is a shorter novel, e.g. The Colorado Kid which was only 184 pages, but "normal" length for that genre. By Stephen King standards, it's more likely to be the length of a novella. :smile2:

It is just such a privilege to be around the boards these days and experience all the excitement & happiness first hand with all the new material coming out. My inner 16-year-old is having a blast making up for pre-internet days in her childhood. Thank you, Steve. :smile2:

Sorry to disappoint, but probably not as it was written with the intention of it being in the crime novel genre which typically is a shorter length.

I wonder what the price will be. The fun about Colorado Kid was that it was extremely cheap (at least here), you could pick it up without having to think about it twice.
But, well, it's still future music. Will be a while.
The other Hard Case books didn't come out here, I think, never saw any of them.

For the moment, just paperback and audiobook formats are planned. I don't have any information about an e-book release yet.

Shorter than a lot of Stephen's novels but typical for the genre.

I totally agree. Very exicted for both upcoming releases!
I am so fortunate (as we all are) that SK is still putting out quality work after ALL these years, and age has not slowed the man down at all. In fact, I think some of his more "recent stuff" is some of his best. 11/22/63 is one of my all-time top favorite SK books... ever. Usually, with musicians, writers, and other artists, the quality of their work diminishes over time. I mean, a Rolling Stones album in 2013 is probably going to be nothing to write home about. But a SK novel in 2013? Ah, it will be just as good if not better than the :old stuff".
And I have no qualms with Joyland if it's shoter than normal. Afterall, one of my favorite stories by SK is The Boogeyman and that's like... what, 12 pages long? haha

Looking forward to this novel, I bet Steve is a gem at crime writing. Anything to outsell Martina Cole or David Baldacci.
