Any speculations as to when Peter and King are gonna start working on this?

It's not on the horizon anytime soon. I can't speak for Peter, but I know Steve has other projects he's working on that will keep him busy through the next year.

I'll do it, just give Peter a call and his people can talk to my people.... oh wait. I don't have people. Never mind. :tongue:

Straub is certainly a great writer in his own right, but has anyone noticed how King seems to inspire him to take it up a notch, it's a wonderful thing reading these two together.

So much can be done with cgi that I can just see how realistic a walk thru Black House could be--or that one way train ride....spooky!! So a sequel could be plus factor creepy/scarey!! One the omvie Twilight, it showed how they can make virtually endless hallways...o I'll be dreaming of this now! lol
btw, I mentioned elsewhere about how I couldnt force myself to read a Stephanie Meyers book cause of her "I said, then I did, I,I,I" throughout the books-but the movie was good! especially if your a preteen or you as an adult is viewing with children... I'd watch it again-someday. ha

I've just recentely read something about a sequel, apperantly the Talisman is being released to coincide wit the new book, is that correct? I've decided it's been too long since i read either one so am about to re-read both now and would be great to finish off by reading a 3rd edition.

I believe your question is answered definitively toward the top of this thread.

Hmm... in 2012, Stevie took care of Ghost Brothers and Dark Tower 4.5, and his almost done with Doctor Sleep and Joyland.
I hope this means that in 2013 he will turn around, call his companion Peter Straub and take Jackie to the end of the journey, although I have the impression that Stevie will avoid sequels for some time after Doctor Sleep, I don't know...

black house ties in to so many of the others, i don't see a number 2 being wrote, but it would be awesome all the same, just to read mr. kings books! the more the merrier!

So is this project still at a stand-still or does SK/Straub have plans to start it up anytime soon? I want to re-read Talisman and Black House but I'd rather wait till the third one comes out so they're fresher in my mind if you know what I mean...

They haven't made any plans for a collaboration anytime soon that I'm aware of.

Black House actually IS number two with The Talisman being the first book in this particular King/Straub collaboration. With Black House they were able to actually tie it into the Tower saga. My mouth is watering at the mention of T3!!!

Well!
This calls for action.
-Sundrop kidnaps SK from the UTD set;
-Hossie & FLJoe drive a van from FL to NC and back to FL with SK in it, over to SK's place in Sarasota;
-Mrs. King (in on the whole caper, of couse) lures Straub to Sarasota with promises of sun, surf, sand, and Beach Blanket Bingo;
-GNTLGNT puts both men in restraining cuffs and locks them into a room with two laptops in SK's house;
-GrieferKiller & the 1799 Kid stand guard with - what else - their guns until the whole Part III is completed;
-PatIntheHat, Muskrat, SusanNorton, and Dana Jean laugh their butts off;
-and I make cocktails.
Mojito, anyone? (Burrito, if we have the time?)

As long as I get to wear the catsuit, and drink Mojitos (maybe a Kumquat Margarita or two), I'm in! :)

I really hope there will be a sequel to Black House as it was a great read...might try some Straub books now too.
I think there was plans to make a mini tv series on Talisman a while ago, but never saw the light of day.
