I don't have anything to say about The Waste Lands right now, but it occurs to me that there's a need for threads that first time Dark Tower readers can go to to talk about what they've read so far without being exposed to information about the later books in the series. Maybe these could be stickied...

New readers: discuss your story.

Old readers: be on your very best behavior and don't don't don't ever address things that come later in the series -- don't "spoil" the journey for your fellow-travelers.

We all float down here.

Hi, Lencho-

Thank you for this thread, as well!

I look forward to posting about my journey into The Waste Lands.

I just finished the chapter where Jake meets Oy for the first time. Soooo sweet!

My favorite part of the book, so far!

Hi, Angie-

You're ahead of me, actually.

I just finished the section where Susannah defeats Shardik the bear (which is awesome, BTW,) followed by Roland's mutterings of Jake just prior to passing out.

I definitely plan on getting a bit further today, though, Angie..

I'm still not there yet, Angie.

Actually, Jake and Roland have finally reunited. And subsequently, he has now met Eddie and Susannah.

I wrapped up the re-read the other day. I'd forgotten all about the Ageless Stranger's appearance. And what Blaine did to the citizens of Lud is just HORRIBLE!

3 down, 4 to go ...

This is a great read.
Really liked the reference to Trash can man in The Stand, and was very pleased with the pacing of the story, which is superior to the first two volumes, in my opinion.
Quite a clifhanger in the end, and I'm really glad that I now can start DT-IV strait away, and not have to wait 6-7 year(?) as it was when original published.

Now, on to that wizard guy ...

I finished this book last night & it turned out to be pretty good! I'm so glad that Jake was reunited with Roland, it was very touching! & I loved Oy, he's so cute! & I was surprised to read about the Dark Man & Trashcan Man. Everything came along pretty nicely, I think. I'm very glad of the ka-tet that has came together so far & wish the best of luck to them. So what happens now? It's on the Dark Tower IV for me, I have to find out happens next.
