I can't seem to find the original thread we had for this, but Ms. Mod I was wondering if there has been any new updates on this. Maybe a release date.

The announcement for a spring release was premature. I do not have a release date and am not able to give out any other details at this time.

Has there been anything new about this. Last I heard T-Bone was making them re-record it.

I haven't had any updates.
I know there was word not so long ago about the CD release and a deluxe 3-disc edition. Wondering if this is still coming, and whether it will have Stephen King's text?

I've been told there is still one coming out but what exactly the format will be, I don't know yet.

I have heard that the CD set is being released by Hear Records (I believe the company that Starbucks uses). I had originally heard that it was to be released at the end of May, but then it was pushed back to sometime this month. I can't find much else info on the web...Is any of this accurate? Any updates? My wife, daughter, and I were able to see the show in Atlanta on April 13...we loved the story and the music and would really LOVE to have a soundtrack. Any chance that the original cast recorded a soundtrack?
Thanks for any info!

Any news on the CD?
Waiting patiently for the music!

No updates on that although I did hear that they did not record the live stage performance so it would not be of the Alliance cast. There were some great performers on the version that was done a few years ago, though.

I imagine any release of the Ghost Brothers music would be excellent, but, though I know it's not possible, I wish I could have an Alliance version.

Here's the most recent news (http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/john-mellencamps-musical-with-stephen-king-nearing-completion-20121114#ixzz2CD63yTOD) which says the CD will be out March 19, 2013. Not sure if the 19th was coincidental. :smile2: I've heard this recording and thought it was very good but it will be a different take on the songs for those who saw the stage production.

I spoke with the rep at Concord Music Group today and we should have a promo page up soon for sk.com, but here's the official web site link (http://www.ghostbrothersofdarklandcounty.com/) for the CD/DVD release in the meantime.

Fantastic news- released just before Easter too. Think I'll put in a request to the Easter Bunny. The CD/DVD is so much better than a chocolate rabbit!

So, based on the picture in the Rolling Stone article, and based on what we know about SK's height, T Bone Burnett must be like 7 feet tall? (or standing on a peach crate).

Weird angle throwing them all off because John Mellencamp is not anywhere near Steve's height. I met T Bone in Atlanta and he is very tall but not 7' tall. :biggrin2: I'd say he and Steve are a lot closer to the same height than it looks.

Found one Google source that puts him at 6' 5" and John Mellencamp at 5' 7".

Thank you very much for this update, Ms. Mod! :smile2:
There still seems to be some confusion on the ninth track by Rosanne Cash, though: According to www.rollingstone.com/music/news/john-mellencamps-musical-with-stephen-king-nearing-completion-20121114 it's called "You Don't Know Me" but according to the press release at www.ghostbrothersofdarklandcounty.com/ its title is "What's Going On Here".
Can you clear this up, please? Or do you happen to know more about this?
Thank you very much in advance! :y:

The CD was recorded at least 2, possibly longer, years ago and a lot changed with the music between then and now. I'm not sure if that's just a song title change or if a new song was recorded so will have to check into it. Working from home today so don't have the original song list/recording handy but will contact Concord Records to see if they have an answer.

Thank you very much in advance! :y:Wikipedia says Mellencamp wrote the following songs for the GB, none of which are titled "You Don't Know Me". Not sure where Rolling Stone got that unless Mellencamp wrote a different song to replace "What's Going On?" or retitled it...

Steve may be in the habit of stooping a bit for Mellencamp's sake. As for the above photo, Mellencamp must be standing on a box.

I'm pretty sure I remember hearing "You Don't Know Me" at some point in the process, but will be sure to check tomorrow. It may not have been on the CD but Steve may have shared it with me another time. Maybe this will be discussed in the mini-documentary or be part of the bonus material they're including in the DVD version. :dunno:

So glad this is getting a release!
Stephen King and John Cougar together. Two of my favorite artists together. What more can one ask for? Hope the DVD contains a full video of one of the live performances.

Want to give a shout out to The Overlook Connection. They're offering to include free an actual program booklet from the Atlanta stage production with pre-orders of the Ghost Brothers CD while supplies last. For more information, visit their web site at this link (http://stephenkingcatalog.com/catalog/ghost-brothers-of-darkland-county-bookdvdcd-free-program-p-1873.html).
