So I logged back in to start playing again, and the 'Path' Screen in the options menu is just black. i can't go into the kitchen or bathroom. I can only look around the rooms in the main dining room. The other menu tabs are there but when I click on 'Paths' I just get a black screen. Anyone else have trouble?

In the last chapter - in the 6th part of "Tunel" is a skeleton lying on the ground. Next to him there is jowl. You should take this :)

What the heck am I missing? I have been over every inch of all these panels and am only able to find two orbs and two items. Have clicked 1000 times on all items mentioned in Journal Entries. Am I really looking for a needle in a haystack? Also I've had my Path options disappear on me twice and had to reset. Is this game Mac friendly? Anyone else frustrated?

You need to delete your temporary internet files. Depending on your browser, you could probably just close the window and open it again.

Holding down shift while hitting refresh also works on some platforms. Just make sure you reload the core.html page. You can tell by the way the percentage loads at the very beginning. (Watch for it to count up to 100%, if it skips to 100% your still looking at the old version.)

If you have not past the pantry, make sure you read the journal entry in the pantry. That will help you carry on.

And yes, the game is Mac friendly, the issue with the options panel today was human error and has been fixed.

Well, you have to hover you mouse over every milimeter of each screen in hopes of finding the tiny spot that shows you what is there to find. So yes you are on the right track.

I love books and the look of the game. It's as good as could be expected even from a gaming company with a full team of game designers, but I'm stuck in the pantry and the aspect of continuing to search every pixel on the screen seems like waste of time.

The tunnel, the kitchen in the Dixie Pig, it's amazing how you reached into my mind and pulled out the images! (I also love the graffiti on the walls in the tunnel!)

Discordia was amazing!

The game was challenging, I like a good challenge though. Not much of a point and click gamer but I enjoyed it never-the-less. The graphics are amazing, sound amazing, and story (does not surprise me) is amazing! It makes me constantly think even more about Dark Tower (I don’t think that is healthy). But hey that is why my screen name is constant_thinker!

Personally, I'd LOVE to see a game based on "The Talisman". But, more an RPG than a shooter. Maps, flipping over and back, with items that change depending which of the "other worlds than these" you are in... it probably wouldn't do well with the vid console crowd if you had to think more than memorize a combination of buttons and "FINISH HIM!!!" *sigh*:rolleyes:

I couldn't agree more, Rose, just like the pictures in my head and it reminded me of a thought which I think is relevant.

All my friends and contemporaries, like Sai King and Peter Jackson, REALLY got into LotR in the mid sixties, discussed it ad nauseum etc., and when Peter Jackson's film came out we were all amazed just how his vision was exactly the same as all of ours and I put this down to two things.

Firstly, the very high quality of Tolkein's descriptive writing which must have put virtually identical visual images in all our seperate minds.

And secondly the empathy, talent and vision of an artist like Peter Jackson to realise it.

And I think that's what we've got in Discordia, congrats big-big all round to those involved.

I don't think there can be higher praise than comparing it with Tolkein/Jackson.

I'm not a gamer, but .....

I have found all of the objects, orbs, and I know the password for the door at the end of the tunnel, but I cannot type anything in the field. Does it literally mean "Verbal"? The system requirements did not indicate a microphone was necessary. Anyone have this problem?

Discordia can be a whole new addition to the Dark Tower series--a stand alone book about the Tet corporation and all of its activities. It should be massive as well at least 11-1200 pages. C'mon uncle Steve set the word slinger loose!

At first I want to say "thank you very much" for this great game! I loved it, everything was nearly as I imagined it while I read the book. I am really looking foreward to the next chapter. Everyday I am looking for it. When I look at the amazing graphics I know that it must be a lot of work, but it drives me crazy. I've had some PMs from users over on DarkTower.com and some questions here on this board about Discordia and the next chapter. Here was my response to Ari Racing on DT.com:

I haven't signed in for a while. Sorry this is late. And thanks for playing it again. I enjoyed a second look about 6 weeks later too. I still cant believe that we made it.

Right now, were working on the Office 2.0 for SK.com. This is going to yield a ton of new tech for the Discordia game engine. Really, all this work needs to be done before we can build chapter 2 of Discordia anyway. It will make the experience so much better and immersive.

So in some ways, we *are* working on it now. The Office is scheduled for release in mid-May. You'll see, the flash and 3D animation will take major steps forward this time around.

I would also add that Uncle Stephen has generously provided us with some render equipments for our "special projects." These units will allow us to do *insane* animations and fly-throughs. We're really going to see some crazy $h!t now. We're getting 2 of these things this month:

I'd also add that BOXX is doing a very cool case study on Discordia titled "The Making of Discordia" (It will be out in the next couple weeks)

Also, Maxon (the creators of Cinema 4D - our 3D software platform) have also given Discordia "the nod." They will also be releasing an in depth case study in the near future.

Actually, these are pretty high honors from people in the industry, so any fans looking for some extra content can see these case studies for more info about how we built the game. - Once they come out later this month.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that at this time we *DO NOT* have a final green light on development of Chapter 2 and 3. I will keep you all posted on when and if Stephen gives us the go ahead to take Discordia to the next level.

All I can say is WOW! This was a perfect realization of the book. I too can't wait for the next chapter. One word to the dev team... add more finds that require less hunting and more book trivia to collect the item in question. Finding items is slightly easy once you get the knack of it. then, knowing how to use that item or having to solve a riddle to get it would really make this thing pop!

First of all I really want to say a big "thank you" to Brian & team, the setting was made with so much love you can really feel it! And I find it really likeable that you're active in the forum! :grinning:

BUT - I think I'm going crazy within the next minutes. Maybe I'm a little bit dumb, but although I'm playing for almost 2 hours now I've still only found 4 of 5 items (Jake's Riza, Callahan's Can-Tah, Mystery Bot, Prophetic Jawbone) and 3 of 6 orbs (Jake, Callahan, Roland). I've read the whole thread but I still don't where to search for what. So, my suggestion: wouldn't it be easier to post a list of all the items and all the orbs and where to find them? Then there wouldn't be the same questions over and over again. (And I would be incredibly happy! :biggrin2:)

However, maybe someone can help me on my way and again: thank you very much!

Thanks for the kind words. There is a thread titled "How to play Discordia" here on the MB." The full break down is available in recent posts when someone asked a similar question. Its an external site that has all the items and locations.

BTW: Its an "investigation" to secure unknown weapons and magic items. If we gave a list of items to find, it would be a "hunt" not an "investigation." :oo: Ya dig?
